Akiza is one of the five Signers, and the bearer of the Black Rose Dragon (left.) Her deck, "Wandering Garden," consists of many Plant-Type monsters. Sayer, the notorious leader of the Arcadia Movement, sometimes mind-controls her using his psychic powers, such as the episode when Akiza faces off against the Dark Signer Misty.
